Check AWS funding before you spend.
AWS funds proofs of concept and migrations that lead to real workloads. Most companies never ask, or ask too late. Here is how it works, what it covers, and how the workshops prepare a case AWS can approve.

Funding follows a path to production.
AWS funding is not a public application form. It runs through the AWS Partner Network: partners propose funding for a customer project in AWS Partner Central[1].
Proof-of-concept funding typically offsets the AWS usage of a prototype; public partner write-ups describe it as a share of the expected annual AWS spend, with a cap[3]. Migration funding under the Migration Acceleration Program is structured in assess, mobilise and migrate phases[2].
What gets approved is a defined project with measurable success criteria and a realistic route to a production workload. Exploration without a production path does not qualify, and projects already under way are hard to fund afterwards[3].
Which funding fits which project.
Amounts are not published on public AWS pages and differ by region, programme and partner. The table shows the shape, not a promise.
| Programme | For | Typically covers | What it needs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Proof-of-concept funding | A prototype that should become a production workload on AWS | AWS usage of the prototype, as credits | Scope, success criteria, architecture, expected AWS consumption |
| Migration Acceleration Program | Moving existing workloads to AWS | Assessment, planning and part of the migration, in phases | Business case, migration plan, projected annual spend |
| Partner funding benefits | AWS Partners delivering and marketing solutions | Training, solution development, go-to-market | AWS Partner status and a request in Partner Central |
Details and figures from public partner sources are collected in the funding guide on ai-solutions.wiki[3].
From Idea Call to approved scope.
The workshop results double as the funding case, so nothing is written twice.

In the free Idea Call: is there a production path, which programme fits, who at AWS needs to know.
Workshops shape the case
Goal, Concept and Decision produce the scope, architecture, cost per AWS service[4] and success criteria AWS asks for.
Submission and scope lock
The case goes in through an AWS Partner. Work starts after approval, so the funded scope is the one you build.
You keep the customer. I bring the case.
For AWS, Red Hat and NetApp partners and system integrators: I run the three-workshop series with your customer, write the funding case and build the prototype on funded cloud. Delivery stays with you. Partner terms on request.

The series that writes the case.
Three workshops and three results, including the funding case. Net, plus VAT. Whether funding covers part of the work depends on the programme.
Goal, Concept, Decision with funding case
Three workshops one to four weeks apart, or one long day.
€2,000 each, 3 to 4 hours, remote or on-site
Delivered within 5 business days after the last session.

AWS Pricing Calculator
Builds a cost estimate per service before anything is deployed.
Amazon Bedrock
Managed access to foundation models from several providers through one API. You choose the model and write the prompt; AWS runs the model.
Amazon SageMaker AI
Managed platform for the whole machine learning lifecycle: notebooks, training jobs, model registry and endpoints.
Amazon Textract
Reads text, forms and tables from scanned documents and returns them as structured data.
AWS Well-Architected Framework
AWS guidance for reviewing workloads on security, reliability, cost, performance, operations and sustainability.
AWS Organizations
Groups AWS accounts, applies guardrail policies and consolidates billing.
What people ask before booking.
Does AWS funding pay the consultant?
Proof-of-concept funding is usually applied as credits for AWS usage. Some partner programmes also fund delivery work. Which applies depends on the programme and the partner, so I check it per project.
How much funding is possible?
AWS does not publish amounts on public pages; they depend on programme, region and projected AWS spend. The funding guide on ai-solutions.wiki collects the figures published by AWS Partners.
How long does approval take?
In my projects it has ranged from one day to about two weeks, depending on the programme and the completeness of the case.
Can we apply ourselves?
Funding requests run through AWS Partners and your AWS account team. You can talk to your account team directly; a partner prepares and submits the request.
Can funding be added to a project that already started?
Rarely. Start the conversation before work begins.
