AWS Community Day Adria 2025 - Sarajevo
This wasn’t a single city event. It was a collaboration of AWS User Groups across the Adriatic region, coming together to create something new for the first time.
And they didn’t just host a conference - they created an experience.
The Location & Atmosphere
The event was held in Sarajevo, a city with a deep sense of history and cultural richness. The venue was impressive - spacious, modern, and full of energy the moment people walked in. There were many attendees, and you could feel how much effort had gone into making every detail welcoming and intentional.
The atmosphere was open, curious, and warm. People connected quickly. There was no distance, no hierarchy - just shared passion.
The Opening Keynote
One of the highlights of the day was the opening keynote delivered by Jeff Barr. Hearing one of the most recognizable voices in the AWS world speak in Sarajevo added a sense of celebration and recognition to the event.
It set the tone for the day: this community matters - globally.
Women of Cloud Workshop
I had the honor of leading the Women of Cloud workshop at the event. What stood out was not just the number of participants, but the level of engagement - thoughtful discussion, shared experiences, reflections from different backgrounds and career paths.
It felt meaningful to be able to hold that space - not as a separate moment, but as a natural part of the event.
The Gala Dinner
The most unforgettable moment came at the end of the day: A gala dinner overlooking Sarajevo, surrounded by mountains, lights, and history.
Traditional Bosnian dishes were served for more than 100 people - a gift of culture and hospitality. It wasn’t just a dinner - it felt like a thank you, a celebration, a “we built this together” moment.
It was one of those rare conference evenings where everyone stayed - not because they were supposed to, but because they wanted to.
What Made This Event Special
- It was the first edition.
- It was built by multiple user groups working together.
- It felt like the beginning of a tradition that will continue to grow.
And that is exactly what’s happening — AWS Community Day Adria 2025 will take place in Ljubljana.
This is the kind of community-building that lasts — because it is built with care, contribution, and shared purpose.
